What is keyword search? It is an SEO (search engine optimization) term which describes the process of finding keywords that are relevant to your website. Keyword research is an activity search engine optimizers use to locate and study search terms that users enter into search engines while searching for specific products, services or just about any information. Keywords are terms related to searches, which users usually ask in search engines for results.
A keyword is the term used by a user that is typed into a search engine box. In simple terms, it is all the words that are related in some way to what the user is searching for. For instance, if someone is searching for “jeans” (the actual name), he would type in the word “jeans” – whether or not the actual word “jeans” appears in the search engine box. The search engine will then assign a keyword search volume value to each of these words. If you were interested in those keywords, you would then see a corresponding volume value on the left hand side of the page.
It is for this reason that it is important to use high-volume keywords in your content – and not the lower quality low-volume keywords. Low-volume keywords have a much lower SEO value attached to them. This is because they have a very low likelihood of being clicked on – and therefore have very low potential for converting traffic into leads or sales. As such, seo experts often advise webmasters to stay away from using them at all cost.
The goal of seo efforts is to have a site that receives as many visitors as possible. In theory, this would translate to having a site that receives a high SEO value. The more valuable your site is relative to that value – the better the chance it has of being visited and subsequently becoming a customer. Therefore, you want to build your website with the keywords that are going to give you the greatest SEO value.
However, it is important to realize that the search volume of low-volume keywords is going to be lower than their high-volume counterparts. Because of this, the overall keyword ranking for these keywords may actually drop – which can drastically affect your website’s seo strategy. For this reason, it is important to choose your keywords carefully. Keyword research software is available that will allow you to quickly identify low volume keywords.
Once you have identified your ideal keywords, you want to write one single articles about each of them. Write a seo friendly article about each keyword. Include its positive and negative aspects. However, do not dwell on the negatives. Instead, dwell on the positives. Include the volume of searches per month for each of these keywords as well.
After you have written your one article, submit them to the top 5 article directories. Include the URL to your website in the article’s resource box. Also, include a keyword boosting link to your website in the resource box as well.
Now, you must observe the behavior of your keyword. What is the keyword’s conversion rate? Is it above or below the average for that particular keyword? If it is above the average, then you know that people are using your keywords to hunt for what they are looking for. However, if it is below the average, then you know that there are certain things that people are searching for, but their searches per month is so low that your keyword isn’t getting much attention!
Another observation you must make is the number of searches per month for each of the specific, high quality, low competition, super relevant keywords that you are targeting. Are these keywords getting enough attention? Are they being used by enough people? Can you imagine how much traffic you will generate for your website with the super relevant, low competition, high volume keywords that you are targeting?
The final observation to make is this. There is a tool known as SEMrush Magic Tool. You can access this free from the website owner. With SEMrush Magic Tool, you can enter the URL addresses of the websites that contain those keywords that you have identified. Then, you can see what the search engines are ranking for each of these websites.
That’s it. You have learned what keywords are performing well and what are not doing so well in terms of keyword search volume. You also have learned which search terms your competitors are using and why. If you utilize these three observations, you can easily decide on the best ways to optimize your website and get maximum traffic volume from your efforts.
